An OpusClip alternative for one recording at a time

OpusClip is built to find many clips in long videos, on a monthly plan, and its free clips carry a watermark and expire after three days. Burncaps does a smaller job without a subscription: it cuts the strongest 30 or 60 seconds of one recording of up to ten minutes, framed on your face and captioned, or captions the whole video. The video never leaves your browser.

An honest line on what each does

How Burncaps picks the 30 seconds

It lists every stretch of the right length that starts where a thought starts and ends where you finished a point, read from your punctuation, your pauses and the fall of your voice, then Claude chooses the strongest. Ums and dead air are cut, the vertical frame follows your face, and captions, an opening card and a soft close are added.

What OpusClip does that we do not

Many clips from a long podcast or stream in one go, links from video sites, a virality score, AI b-roll, a social scheduler and team seats on its paid plans. If you cut a two-hour show into ten clips a week, it is built for that and we are not.

Why Pro is not a subscription

The heavy work runs on your own device, so a video costs us close to nothing. That is why every video is free with every feature, with no mark on the first two and only a small credit after, and why Pro is one payment of $49.

Questions, answered plainly

Is there a free OpusClip alternative without a watermark?

Burncaps is free with every feature: no watermark on the first two videos, then a small burncaps.app credit, which Pro removes for $49 once. It cuts the best 30 or 60 seconds of one recording of up to ten minutes, or captions the whole video, in your browser without uploading it.

What does OpusClip's free plan include?

As read on opus.pro/pricing on 28 September 2026: 60 credits a month, where one credit is one minute of video processed, clips up to 1080p that can be exported for 3 days, animated captions with a watermark, and no text or timeline editing. Watermark-free export starts on Starter at $15 a month, billed monthly only.

Can Burncaps cut a long podcast into many clips?

No. Burncaps takes one recording of up to ten minutes and returns either its strongest 30 or 60 seconds or the whole video captioned. For many clips from a long show, a tool like OpusClip is built for the job.

Does Burncaps upload my video?

No. The picture and the export are made in your browser. The sound goes to our speech service only if you choose it, and the transcript text goes to Claude only for the optional best-moment pick, name check or translation.
