AI clips for coaches: your weekly webinar, cut into captioned clips
Drop the recording of a webinar, a group call or a course video, up to three hours, and Burncaps listens to all of it and gives back its best moments as ranked, captioned 9:16 clips, with your face kept in frame and the ums cut. It all runs in your browser, and the video is never uploaded.

From a call recording to clips you can post
A coach's best material is already recorded: the weekly webinar, the group call, the masterclass, the course lesson. Burncaps turns the file your call or webinar software saves into short vertical clips, without an editor in the loop.
1. Drop the recording
Burncaps takes the MP4 or MOV file your software saves. Download a cloud recording first: Burncaps works from a file, not a link. On a computer the file is read in place from your disk, up to three hours and 10 GB.
2. It listens and chooses
For a recording over ten minutes the page asks first how to listen; choose this computer and an English recording's sound stays on it. Then Burncaps offers only stretches that start where a thought starts and end where you finished the point, read from the punctuation, the pauses and the fall of your voice: about one clip for every two minutes of talk, up to 30, ranked best first.
3. You check and export
Each clip shows the words it opens and ends on and the reason it was chosen, and the ones we would post first are circled. Correct any word with a click, type your programme's name and your clients' names once so every caption spells them right, pick a caption style, and export.
How long it takes, measured: on a 2020 MacBook with 8 GB of memory, 90 minutes of English were heard on the device in 8.8 minutes with WebGPU (5 October 2026). Then, on the transcript of a 110-minute interview, the clip finder read the script in 19 parts and returned 30 ranked clips in 103 seconds (1 November 2026).
Recordings up to three hours
| Your recording | Clips found and ranked | With Captions + Clips or the trial |
|---|---|---|
| A 30-minute group call | About 15 | Every one exports |
| A one-hour webinar | Up to 30 | Every one exports |
| A two or three hour workshop | Up to 30, the best of the whole recording | Every one exports |
Phones take recordings up to three hours too. Captions burned into a whole video, rather than clips, go up to ten minutes. Clips come out as vertical 9:16 MP4s, or choose 4:5, square or the original frame for a feed.
Your face kept in frame
When a clip is opened, Burncaps finds the faces in the recording on your own device and plans the frame shot by shot.
| On screen | What the 9:16 frame does |
|---|---|
| Just you on camera | Follows your face inside the picture, never the black bars around it |
| You and one other person, in two windows of a call | Shows both for the whole clip, one above the other, faces the same size, the person on the left of the call on top, the same in every clip |
| A group with more people | Cuts to whoever is speaking |
| Slides or a shared screen, your camera in a small corner tile | Shows the whole picture across the width, so the slide stays readable |
Captions and the opening card are kept off faces; where no place clears every face, that clip goes without its card.
Calls with clients on screen
The video never leaves your browser. The sound goes only to our speech service, on a phone unless you switch it off, on a computer only if you choose it. For a recording over ten minutes the page asks first; choose this computer and a coaching call in English becomes clips without its sound leaving your computer.
To find the clips and spell names, the transcript text, never the picture or the sound, goes to our AI and is not stored. Tick Keep everything on this device and nothing from the call leaves at all: a simpler built-in rule picks the clips instead.
Only post people who have agreed to it. A client who spoke on a group call agreed to the call, not to appearing in your marketing. Before you post a clip with a client in it, ask them first and keep their yes in writing.
What it costs against an editor
Why it pays: a vendor roundup of podcast editing services (Vidpros, published 2 June 2026, prices checked in March 2026) lists $200 to $800 per episode for 8 to 12 short clips. A weekly webinar is about four recordings a month, each with up to 30 clips to choose from. Captions + Clips is $29 a month for all of them, less than one episode at the low end of that range (our arithmetic).
An editor does things Burncaps does not: decides what your audience needs, reworks a clip by hand and posts it for you. Burncaps does the listening, the cutting, the captions and the framing, and ranks the moments, so your time goes on choosing from ranked clips instead of scrubbing an hour of video.
Try it on last week's recording first: every clip is found and ranked before you sign up. Free exports 2 recordings every 30 days, each with its captioned video and up to 3 clips, with no sign-up and no watermark. Past that, your email starts the free 7-day Captions + Clips trial: every clip exports, no card. Then Captions + Clips is $29 a month, cancel any time. Its first payment has a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Questions, answered plainly
Can I make clips from a Zoom recording?
Yes. Record the meeting, download the MP4 (from the cloud first, if it was recorded there) and drop it on Burncaps: it takes a file, not a link. A call with two people in two windows becomes a clip with both shown, one above the other, faces the same size.
How long can the recording be?
Up to three hours, on a computer or a phone; on a computer it can be up to 10 GB and is read in place from your disk. Captions burned into a whole video, rather than clips, go up to ten minutes.
Do my clients' faces get uploaded?
No. The video never leaves your browser: faces are found and framed on your own device, and the clips are cut and exported there. The sound goes only to our speech service, on a phone unless you switch it off, on a computer only if you choose it, and the transcript text goes to our AI only to find the clips and spell names; ticking Keep everything on this device stops both.
How many clips does a one-hour webinar give?
Up to 30. Burncaps returns about one clip for every two minutes of talk, up to 30, ranked best first, the ones we would post first circled, each with the words it opens and ends on and the reason it was chosen. A 30-minute group call gives about 15 clips.
Does it work for course videos and slides?
Yes, for lessons where you talk. A stretch of slides or a shared screen is shown whole across the width, so the slide stays readable, and a screen recording with no face is fitted the same way. Clips are cut from the picture, so an audio-only file gives you its script and subtitle files, not clips.
What does it cost after the trial?
Captions + Clips, $29 a month, cancel any time, gives unlimited clips from every recording. Captions, $9.98 a month or $49 once, is for captioned videos only: unlimited captioned videos and no clip exports. Before either, Free gives 2 videos every 30 days, each with captions and up to 3 clips, and the free 7-day Captions + Clips trial needs no card; neither adds a watermark.

Burncaps facts, checked 2 November 2026
What it is: a browser tool that burns animated word-by-word captions into a talking video, or finds the best moments of a talk, podcast or interview and gives them back as ranked, captioned 9:16 clips.
Price: free for 2 videos every 30 days, each one recording with its captioned video and up to 3 clips, no mark and no sign-up; then the free 7-day Captions + Clips trial, no card (your email only); then Captions + Clips, $29 a month, gives unlimited clips and captioned videos, or Captions, $9.98 a month or $49 once, gives unlimited captioned videos. Captions paid once is not a subscription.
Privacy: the video never leaves your browser. The sound goes only to our speech service, on a phone unless you switch it off, on a computer only if you choose it. Because the video never reaches us, we cannot keep it or train AI on it, and we train no AI on anything you make.
Files: MP4 or MOV in, MP4 out. Captions on the whole video: up to ten minutes. Clips: up to three hours, on a phone or a computer. SRT, VTT, ASS and text files are free without limit for recordings up to ten minutes; a longer recording, up to three hours, gives its script and those files (the first ten minutes free, all of it with one of the free videos, the trial or a plan) and its clips (every one found and shown before you sign up; a free video exports up to 3 of them, and the trial and Captions + Clips export them all, unlimited).
Clips: about one clip for every two minutes of talk, up to 30, ranked, the ones we would post first circled, each showing the words it opens and ends on and the reason it was chosen; each cut to 9:16 with ums and dead air removed, an opening card and captions, framed on whoever is talking. Every clip of the whole recording is found and shown, free and with no sign-up; each free video exports up to 3 of them, and the 7-day trial and Captions + Clips export every clip, unlimited.
Languages and styles: captions in the language spoken, twelve Indian languages heard on your device, translation into 59 languages, 60 caption styles.
After it listens: correct any word (one click changes it everywhere), add or cut words, one to six words at a time, position, size, text and highlight colours, and names this browser remembers, all free and without listening again.
