Podcast clip maker that never uploads your episode
Drop a video podcast and Burncaps listens to all of it, then gives back its best moments as ranked 9:16 clips, each with a score out of 100, captioned, with the ums cut and the frame on whoever is talking. It all happens in your browser: the episode is read from your own disk, up to three hours on a computer, and is never uploaded.

What one episode gives you
Burncaps returns about one clip for every three minutes of talk, up to 20, best first. Each clip comes with a score out of 100, Hook, Flow and Value grades, a type (a top moment, an emotional story or a viral snippet), a title and the reason it was chosen, so you can see why it made the cut before you post it.
| Episode length | Clips found | On the free plan |
|---|---|---|
| 10 minutes | About 3 | All of them |
| 30 minutes | About 10 | The clips of the first ten minutes |
| 1 hour | Up to 20 | The clips of the first ten minutes |
| Up to 3 hours | Up to 20, the best of the whole episode | The clips of the first ten minutes |
How long it takes, measured: first it listens. On an M1 Mac, 90 minutes of English were heard on the device in 8.8 minutes (5 October 2026). Then, on a 110-minute interview, the clip finder read the script in 19 parts and returned 20 ranked clips in 83 seconds (23 October 2026).
Made for the way podcasts are filmed
Two people at a table
Many video podcasts are a wide shot of two or more people. When you open a clip, Burncaps looks for who is talking and its 9:16 frame cuts to whoever is speaking, or shows both side by side, so the vertical clip follows the conversation instead of cropping the middle of the table.
Clips that end on the point
In a conversation one answer runs straight into the host's next question. Burncaps only offers stretches that start where a thought starts and end where the speaker finished the point, read from the punctuation, the pauses and the fall of the voice, and the AI pick never ends a clip on a question, so it stops on your guest's answer. Ums, stutters and dead air are cut.
Your guest's name, spelled right
Type the names that come up on the show, your guest's, your sponsor's, your own, and the script spells them right in every caption. This browser remembers them for next week's episode. Click any word in the script to correct it, and one click changes it everywhere.
What a weekly show costs
| Plan | Clips from a long episode | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | The clips of the first ten minutes, with their scores; each exported clip uses one of your two free videos every 30 days | Free |
| Pro | The whole episode's script and subtitle files, and Clips from its first ten minutes; unlimited videos with no mark | $49 once |
| Studio | Clips from the whole of every episode, up to three hours on a computer; ten devices for a team | $29 a month, cancel any time |
Why it pays for clips: OpusClip Pro is $29 a month for 300 minutes of video, enough for five one-hour podcasts, billed monthly in the US, the UK and Europe (opus.pro/pricing, read 24 October 2026). Studio has no minute meter and never uploads the video: a recording can be up to three hours on a computer, and the only hours counted are our speech service's, 20 in any 30 days (five with Pro), after which Burncaps listens on your own device.
What it does not do
Burncaps does not record your podcast, take links from YouTube or Spotify, schedule posts, or stitch one clip together from several parts of the show. It cuts clips from a video file you already have. An audio-only episode gives its script and subtitle files (the first ten minutes free, all of it with Pro or Studio), not clips, because clips are cut from the picture. If you need those things, a cloud editor is built for them and we are not.
Questions, answered plainly
How many clips does Burncaps make from one podcast episode?
About one clip for every three minutes of talk, up to 20, ranked best first, each with a score out of 100, Hook, Flow and Value grades, a type and a one-line reason it was chosen. A 30-minute episode gives about 10 clips and an hour or more gives up to 20. Episodes can be up to three hours on a computer.
Does it work for a podcast with two people?
Yes. When a clip is opened, Burncaps looks for who is talking and its 9:16 frame cuts to whoever is speaking, or shows both side by side, so a wide shot of two people at a table becomes a vertical clip. The AI pick never ends a clip on a question, so a clip stops on the answer, not on the next question.
Do I have to upload my podcast?
No. On a computer the recording is read in place from your disk, up to three hours and 10 GB, and the clips are cut and exported in your browser. The sound goes to our speech service only on a phone unless you switch it off, or on a computer if you choose it, and the transcript text goes to Claude only to find the clips and check names, never the video.
Is the podcast clip maker free?
Free to use: two videos every 30 days with no mark, or $49 once for unlimited videos. On the free plan Burncaps finds the clips of the first ten minutes of an episode, with their scores, and each exported clip uses one of your two free videos. Studio, $29 a month, finds clips in the whole of every episode.
Can it make clips from an audio-only podcast?
No. Clips are cut from the video. An audio file gives its script and SRT, VTT and text files instead, for show notes or subtitles: free for the first ten minutes, all of an episode up to three hours with Pro or Studio.
