CapCut pricing: is CapCut free, and what CapCut Pro costs
Yes, CapCut is free to start: its pricing page lists a Free plan at $0. CapCut Pro is what you pay for, and on 3 November 2026 that page showed it at $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year in US dollars, and £21.99 a month or £199.99 a year from the UK. The app also sells a cheaper Standard plan for phones. CapCut says the price you see depends on your country, device and offers, so every figure below names the page it came from.
The video never leaves your browser. On a computer, the sound is heard on your own device unless you choose our speech service; on a phone, it goes to our speech service unless you keep it on the phone. The service gets short pieces of sound, never the picture.

Is CapCut free?
Yes. CapCut's pricing page lists Free at $0 (£0 from the UK), with free templates and basic editing tools, and you can edit and export with it. What costs money is anything CapCut marks as a paid feature or material. By its help centre, you can try those while you edit, but when a project uses one, exporting it asks you to join CapCut Pro; removing the marked items, or swapping them for free ones, lets the video export on Free.
Free
Editing, free templates and basic tools, with no card. CapCut's help pages say most exports carry no watermark (the section on watermarks is below).
Standard, in the app
A paid plan for the phone app, $9.99 a month on the US App Store and £10.99 in the UK. Its help centre says it opens the items marked with a blue diamond, works only in the mobile app and is offered only in some regions.
CapCut Pro
Everything marked with a purple diamond, on the phone app, the computer app and the web, with 1,200 AI credits a month and 1 TB of storage on its pricing page. $19.99 a month in US dollars, £21.99 from the UK.

CapCut's plans and prices, from its pricing page
The page shows four plans and lets you switch between monthly and yearly billing. It does not list Standard. At the top it says: "Displayed pricing is for reference only", and that you sign in to see the final price, taxes and any offers for your account.
| Plan | US dollars, billed monthly | US dollars, billed yearly | From the UK, billed monthly | From the UK, billed yearly | What it lists |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | £0 | £0 | Free templates, basic editing tools |
| Pro | $19.99 a month | $179.99 a year | £21.99 a month | £199.99 a year | 1,200 AI credits a month, premium templates and features, 1 TB of storage |
| Ultra | $79 a month | $900 a year | £58 a month | £669 a year | More AI credits (8,645 a month on the dollar page, 6,464 on the pound page) and AI features beyond CapCut Pro |
| Teams | From $12.49 a month for each seat | From $107.50 a year for each seat | From £13.49 a month for each seat | From £120 a year for each seat | 1,200 AI credits a month for each seat, a brand kit; the price shown is for 2 seats and changes with the number of seats |
Read on capcut.com/pricing on 3 November 2026, signed out: the pound prices from a UK connection, the dollar prices through a page-reading service that CapCut priced in US dollars. We did not see the page in euros; the App Store's euro prices are in the next table. The Teams price per seat on the page moves with the number of seats chosen. If CapCut's page has changed since, it is the authority. We recheck it by 3 December 2026.
What the CapCut app costs on the App Store
Apple publishes each app's in-app purchases with their prices, one list per country. CapCut's lists, read on 3 November 2026, show Standard and CapCut Pro by name, plus subscriptions that do not say which plan they are.
| In-app purchase, as Apple lists it | US store | UK store | Ireland (euros) | Germany (euros) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Monthly Subscription | $9.99 | £10.99 | €14.99 | €11.99 |
| Pro Monthly Subscription | $19.99 | £21.99 | €29.99 | €23.99 |
| Yearly Subscription (plan not named) | $89.99 | £99.99 | €149.99 | €109.99 |
| Other monthly subscriptions (plan not named) | $7.99, $19.99 | £10.99 | €11.99, €22.99 | €9.49, €11.99 |
From the "In-App Purchases" list of CapCut: Photo & Video Editor (Bytedance Pte. Ltd.) on apps.apple.com, the us, gb, ie and de stores, read 3 November 2026. Apple's list shows prices, not what each subscription includes, so a yearly subscription is not matched to a plan here. Inside the euro area the price differs by country, as the Irish and German stores show. We recheck them by 3 December 2026.
Where CapCut's pages disagree: its guide "CapCut Standard vs Pro" (23 September 2026) calls Standard "commonly referred to as the free version", while its help centre and the App Store sell Standard as a paid plan; the same guide puts its team plan at "around $24.99 per month", while the pricing page shows Teams from $12.49 a seat; and its help page on monthly and yearly plans (25 March 2026) gives CapCut Pro 100 GB of storage, while the pricing page and its help page on the new prices (8 April 2026) say 1 TB.
Why the price you see can differ
Country, device and offers
CapCut's help page "How Much Does CapCut Pro Cost?" (23 September 2026) says the price varies with your region, your device and the promotions on offer, "instead of a fixed global price". It says the up-to-date price shows after you sign in: on the web under Upgrade, on a computer under your user ID, in the app under Me, then Join CapCut Pro.
Tests on some accounts
Its page "Why is the Price Lower on My Other Account?" (8 April 2026) says limited-time offers are being tested on selected users, so two accounts can see different prices. Its page on in-app prices adds that an app store account set to another country, currency conversion and taxes added at checkout can change the amount charged.
New prices in 2026
Its page on prices for new subscribers (8 April 2026) says CapCut Pro was upgraded, with AI credits raised from 550 to 1,200 and storage from 100 GB to 1 TB, and a cheaper Standard plan was added. Its renewal page of the same date says there were no plans to raise the renewal price for existing subscribers.
From capcut.com/help: "How Much Does CapCut Pro Cost?", "Why is the Price Lower on My Other Account?", "Why In-App Price Inconsistency with Payment Price?", "What Is the Price of CapCut for New Subscribers?" and "Will the Price Increase When Renewing CapCut Pro?", each read 3 November 2026 with the date it shows. We recheck them by 3 December 2026.
CapCut Standard vs CapCut Pro

The free trial, cancelling and refunds
7 days, no card
The pricing page says new users can start a 7-day free trial of CapCut Pro, with no credit card needed to begin, and that it varies by region, platform, billing channel and offer. The help centre (25 March 2026) adds three conditions: a country where it is offered, CapCut 8.20 or later, and an account that has never had CapCut Pro. One help page tells phone users to pick the yearly plan that carries the trial.
Cancelling
CapCut's subscriptions renew by themselves. Its help centre says to cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, or a new billing period is charged. A subscription bought in the iPhone or Android app is changed and cancelled in your Apple or Google account, not inside CapCut.
Refunds
The same help page says CapCut subscriptions count as virtual goods and "generally, purchases do not support refunds", with an appeal for cases such as being charged twice. A refund for an App Store purchase is asked of Apple.
From capcut.com/pricing (its questions) and capcut.com/help: "How Can I Enjoy the CapCut Pro Free Trial?" and "How to Use Materials for Free?" (25 March 2026), "How to Join CapCut Pro?" (2 April 2026), "What Happens If I Forget to Cancel My Subscription?" (25 March 2026) and the refund page of 13 January 2026, read 3 November 2026.
Does CapCut add a watermark?
Usually not. CapCut's help page on exporting without a watermark (18 March 2026) says most exports carry none, and that one appears when a template includes a CapCut ending clip, a stock item needs attribution, or the export keeps the default outro. Its page on template videos (25 March 2026) gives the fix: scroll to the end of the timeline, delete the CapCut ending clip, check for logo layers, then export.
Read on capcut.com/help on 3 November 2026. We recheck it by 3 December 2026.
Is CapCut Pro worth it if captions are the reason?
CapCut's own pages do not agree on whether auto captions are free. Its caption tool page for CapCut Web still said on 3 November 2026 that the feature is free to use without hidden costs; its help page for Standard users (3 April 2026) says a prompt to join CapCut Pro on a feature such as auto captions means it includes Pro-only parts; and its Standard vs Pro guide (23 September 2026) calls the auto caption generator exclusive to Pro users. We set out each page's words on Are CapCut's auto captions free?
If captions are the only thing you open CapCut for, a monthly subscription is a lot to pay for one feature. Burncaps does that one job in your browser: drop a talking video and it burns in animated word-by-word captions, in 60 styles, with a script under the video you correct with a click, and SRT, VTT, ASS and text files free without limit for videos up to ten minutes. The video is never uploaded.
What it costs: Free: 2 videos every 30 days, each with captions and up to 3 clips, no watermark, no sign-up. Then try Captions + Clips free for 7 days, no card. Captions + Clips is $29 a month for unlimited clips and captions; Captions is $9.98 a month or $49 once.
If you use CapCut to cut a long video into Shorts, Burncaps does that too: drop a recording up to three hours and it finds the moments worth posting and gives them back as ranked, captioned 9:16 clips. Long video to Shorts.
Questions, answered plainly
Is CapCut free?
Yes, to start. CapCut's pricing page, read on 3 November 2026, lists a Free plan at $0 with free templates and basic editing tools. Anything marked CapCut Pro can be tried while you edit, but by CapCut's help centre a video that uses a CapCut Pro feature or material asks for CapCut Pro when you export it.
How much is CapCut Pro?
On 3 November 2026 CapCut's pricing page showed CapCut Pro at $19.99 a month or $179.99 a year in US dollars, and at £21.99 a month or £199.99 a year to a reader in the UK. The App Store listed CapCut Pro Monthly at $19.99 in the US, £21.99 in the UK, €29.99 in Ireland and €23.99 in Germany. CapCut says its displayed prices are for reference only and that the final price, taxes and offers show after you sign in.
What is CapCut Standard, and how is it different from CapCut Pro?
Standard is a cheaper paid plan sold in the app: $9.99 a month on the US App Store and £10.99 in the UK on 3 November 2026. By CapCut's help centre it unlocks items marked with a blue diamond, works only in the phone app and is offered only in some regions, while CapCut Pro unlocks the purple-diamond items too and works on phones, computers and the web. One CapCut page, its Standard vs CapCut Pro guide, uses Standard to mean the free version instead.
Does CapCut have a free trial?
Its pricing page says new users can start a 7-day free trial of CapCut Pro with no credit card, and that the trial varies by region, platform, billing channel and offer. Its help centre adds that the trial is offered only in selected countries, needs CapCut version 8.20 or later, and is only for accounts that have never subscribed to CapCut Pro.
Does CapCut add a watermark?
Usually not. CapCut's help pages, read on 3 November 2026, say most exports carry no watermark, and that one appears when a template adds a CapCut ending clip, a stock item needs attribution, or the export keeps the default outro. Deleting the ending clip removes it.
How do I cancel CapCut Pro?
Where you bought it. A subscription bought in the iPhone or Android app is managed in your Apple or Google account settings, not in CapCut. CapCut's help centre says subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, and that purchases generally cannot be refunded.
Is there a free way to caption a video without CapCut Pro?
Yes. Burncaps burns animated word-by-word captions into your video in your browser, and the video is never uploaded. Free: 2 videos every 30 days, each with captions and up to 3 clips, no watermark, no sign-up. Then try Captions + Clips free for 7 days, no card. Captions + Clips is $29 a month for unlimited clips and captions; Captions is $9.98 a month or $49 once.

Burncaps facts, checked 3 November 2026
What it is: a browser tool that burns animated word-by-word captions into a talking video, or finds the best moments of a talk, podcast or interview and gives them back as ranked, captioned 9:16 clips.
Price: free for 2 videos every 30 days, each one recording with its captioned video and up to 3 clips, no mark and no sign-up; then the free 7-day Captions + Clips trial, no card (your email only); then Captions + Clips, $29 a month, gives unlimited clips and captioned videos, or Captions, $9.98 a month or $49 once, gives unlimited captioned videos. Captions paid once is not a subscription.
Privacy: the video never leaves your browser. The sound goes only to our speech service, on a phone unless you switch it off, on a computer only if you choose it. Because the video never reaches us, we cannot keep it or train AI on it, and we train no AI on anything you make.
Files: MP4 or MOV in, MP4 out. Captions on the whole video: up to ten minutes. Clips: up to three hours, on a phone or a computer. SRT, VTT, ASS and text files are free without limit for recordings up to ten minutes; a longer recording, up to three hours, gives its script and those files (the first ten minutes free, all of it as one of your free videos, in the trial or with Captions + Clips or Captions) and its clips (every one found and shown before you sign up; up to 3 from each free video exported free, every one in the trial or with Captions + Clips).
Clips: about one clip for every two minutes of talk, up to 30, ranked, the ones we would post first circled, each showing the words it opens and ends on and the reason it was chosen; each cut to 9:16 with ums and dead air removed, an opening card and captions, framed on whoever is talking. Every clip of the whole recording is found and shown, free and with no sign-up; each free video exports up to 3 of them, and the 7-day trial and Captions + Clips export every clip, unlimited.
Languages and styles: captions in the language spoken, twelve Indian languages heard on your device, translation into 59 languages, 60 caption styles.
After it listens: correct any word (one click changes it everywhere), add or cut words, one to six words at a time, position, size, text and highlight colours, and names this browser remembers, all free and without listening again.
