Riverside pricing: the free plan, every paid plan, and clips

Riverside lists a free plan and four paid ones. Its pricing page, read on 3 November 2026, put Riverside Pro at $35 a month, Grow at $45 and Webinar at $99 billed monthly, with Business on request; billed yearly, the page disagreed with itself, so both figures are below. Riverside is a studio that records remote interviews, each guest on their own device. Burncaps records nothing: it turns a recording you already have, from Riverside or anywhere, into captioned clips in your browser.

The video never leaves your browser. On a computer, the sound is heard on your own device unless you choose our speech service; on a phone, it goes to our speech service unless you keep it on the phone. The service gets short pieces of sound, never the picture.

Read on riverside.com/pricing on 3 November 2026, signed out, through a page-reading service that runs the page's scripts, in US dollars. Its price data holds the same numbers in euros and pounds, and its help centre says it takes payment in US dollars, euros and pounds. Recording itself is unlimited on the paid plans, by the page's own questions; the hour counts are for downloading each guest's separate tracks. If Riverside's page has changed since, it is the authority. We recheck it by 3 December 2026.

Where Riverside's own pages disagree

The monthly prices agree almost everywhere: $35, $45 and $99. The yearly ones do not. On 3 November 2026 the pricing page's plan cards showed $29, $36 and $79 a month billed yearly; the same page's answer to "Should I pay monthly or annually?" said Pro "drops from $29 to $24/month", Grow from $39 to $34 and Webinar from $99 to $79; and the price data the page loads gave $24, $34 and $79 a month. The page's code names two pricing tests ("tier1-yearly-pricing-test" and "tier2-pricing-ab-test"), so visitors may not all see the same yearly price. Riverside's blog post "Is Riverside Free?", updated 10 September 2026, gives $35, $45 and $99 monthly and $29, $39 and $79 yearly. What you are charged is what Riverside's checkout shows you.

Is Riverside free?

Its pricing page says yes, and its blog says no. The pricing page lists Free at $0: video up to 720p, "Riverside watermark on all your things", 44.1 kHz sound, 2 hours of separate-track recordings to try, unlimited single-track recording and editing, Magic Clips and video calls. Riverside's blog post "Is Riverside Free?", updated 10 September 2026, opens with "Riverside no longer offers a free plan", and offers the 14-day trial instead. Both were read on 3 November 2026; its help centre's article on what a free account includes did not open that day.

The 14-day trial

The pricing page offers a 14-day free trial on Riverside Pro, Grow and Webinar. Its help centre says you need a credit card to start, are not charged until the trial ends, and can cancel at any time; its blog says the trial carries no watermark and converts to the paid plan on day 15 unless you cancel.

Cancelling

On a computer: the account menu, your plan name, then Cancel plan at the bottom of Plan & Billing. In the mobile app: Settings, Subscription, Cancel plan. A downgrade keeps your plan until the end of the billing period, and your recordings are not deleted.

Refunds

Its refund policy refunds a new monthly Riverside Pro or Grow subscription cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, or a yearly one within 14 days, on request. AI credits are not refunded, and a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is refunded by that store.

From riverside.com/pricing, riverside.com/blog/is-riverside-free (updated 10 September 2026) and support.riverside.com: "Can I try Riverside for free?", "Cancel your account subscription plan", "What happens when I change my subscription?" and "Refund and Cancellation Policy for paid subscriptions", read 3 November 2026. We recheck them by 3 December 2026.

What you pay on Riverside if you only want clips

Magic Clips, Riverside's AI clip maker, is listed on every plan, Free included, and its pricing page says Magic Clips uses no AI credits. On Free, though, exports carry the Riverside watermark and stop at 720p, so clips you can post without the watermark start with Riverside Pro: $35 a month billed monthly on 3 November 2026. AI credits, which Pro starts with 2,000 of, power other tools such as AI translation and AI B-roll. How many clips Magic Clips makes, and where it stops, is on our Riverside Magic Clips alternative page.

Why it pays: if you already record somewhere you like and only want the clips, Captions + Clips is $29 a month for every clip of every recording, against $35 a month for Riverside Pro billed monthly. Free: 2 videos every 30 days, each with captions and up to 3 clips, no watermark, no sign-up. Then try Captions + Clips free for 7 days, no card. Captions + Clips is $29 a month for unlimited clips and captions; Captions is $9.98 a month or $49 once.

What Riverside is good at

Recording remote guests

Riverside records each participant on their own device rather than over the call and uploads the tracks as you record, so a guest's weak connection does not spoil the recording. Paid plans record up to 4K video and 48 kHz sound.

Editing and publishing in one place

A text-based editor, Magic Clips and show notes, podcast hosting with analytics on Riverside Pro, and live streaming and social scheduling from Grow. If you want recording, editing and publishing in one account, that is what it is built for.

Where Burncaps fits instead

You already record on Riverside, Zoom, StreamYard, a camera or a phone, and you want ranked, captioned clips from the file, or the footage should not be uploaded. Burncaps does that one job in your browser and gives you files to post yourself.

Questions, answered plainly

How much does Riverside cost?

Billed monthly, Riverside's pricing page showed Riverside Pro at $35 a month, Grow at $45 and Webinar at $99 on 3 November 2026, with Business priced on request. Billed yearly, the same page gave different figures in different places: its plan cards showed $29, $36 and $79 a month, while its own questions and its price data said $24, $34 and $79.

Is Riverside free?

Riverside's pricing page lists a Free plan at $0 with 720p video, a Riverside watermark, 2 hours of separate-track recording to try, unlimited single-track recording and editing, and Magic Clips. Riverside's own blog, updated 10 September 2026, says it no longer offers a free plan, so the two disagree; both were read on 3 November 2026.

Does Riverside have a free trial, and does it need a card?

Yes: 14 days on Riverside Pro, Grow or Webinar. Its help centre says you need a credit card to start, are not charged until the trial ends, and can cancel any time. Its blog says the trial has no watermark.

Can I get a refund from Riverside?

By its refund policy, a new monthly Riverside Pro or Grow subscription cancelled within 24 hours of purchase, or a yearly one within 14 days, is refunded in full on request. AI credits are not refundable, and a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play is refunded by that store.

What do I pay on Riverside if I only want clips?

Its pricing page lists Magic Clips on every plan, Free included, and says Magic Clips uses no AI credits. On Free your exports carry the Riverside watermark at up to 720p, so clips without the watermark start with Riverside Pro, $35 a month billed monthly on 3 November 2026.

Does Burncaps record podcasts like Riverside?

No. Burncaps records nothing. It starts from a recording you already have, from Riverside, Zoom, a camera or a phone, an MP4 or MOV up to three hours, and finds the moments worth posting as ranked, captioned vertical clips in your browser, without uploading the video. Riverside records each guest on their own device, which Burncaps does not do.

Is there a cheaper way to get clips from a Riverside recording?

If you only need the clips, export the recording and drop it into Burncaps. Free: 2 videos every 30 days, each with captions and up to 3 clips, no watermark, no sign-up. Then try Captions + Clips free for 7 days, no card. Captions + Clips is $29 a month for unlimited clips and captions; Captions is $9.98 a month or $49 once.

Burncaps facts, checked 3 November 2026

What it is: a browser tool that burns animated word-by-word captions into a talking video, or finds the best moments of a talk, podcast or interview and gives them back as ranked, captioned 9:16 clips.

Price: free for 2 videos every 30 days, each one recording with its captioned video and up to 3 clips, no mark and no sign-up; then the free 7-day Captions + Clips trial, no card (your email only); then Captions + Clips, $29 a month, gives unlimited clips and captioned videos, or Captions, $9.98 a month or $49 once, gives unlimited captioned videos. Captions paid once is not a subscription.

Privacy: the video never leaves your browser. The sound goes only to our speech service, on a phone unless you switch it off, on a computer only if you choose it. Because the video never reaches us, we cannot keep it or train AI on it, and we train no AI on anything you make.

Files: MP4 or MOV in, MP4 out. Captions on the whole video: up to ten minutes. Clips: up to three hours, on a phone or a computer. SRT, VTT, ASS and text files are free without limit for recordings up to ten minutes; a longer recording, up to three hours, gives its script and those files (the first ten minutes free, all of it as one of your free videos, in the trial or with Captions + Clips or Captions) and its clips (every one found and shown before you sign up; up to 3 from each free video exported free, every one in the trial or with Captions + Clips).

Clips: about one clip for every two minutes of talk, up to 30, ranked, the ones we would post first circled, each showing the words it opens and ends on and the reason it was chosen; each cut to 9:16 with ums and dead air removed, an opening card and captions, framed on whoever is talking. Every clip of the whole recording is found and shown, free and with no sign-up; each free video exports up to 3 of them, and the 7-day trial and Captions + Clips export every clip, unlimited.

Languages and styles: captions in the language spoken, twelve Indian languages heard on your device, translation into 59 languages, 60 caption styles.

After it listens: correct any word (one click changes it everywhere), add or cut words, one to six words at a time, position, size, text and highlight colours, and names this browser remembers, all free and without listening again.
